unscrew the door handle and lock (just 2 screws total). pull the panel from the bottom first, it's all plastic pegs, then lift up.

I would definitely try to get in at least another screw because your speakers will vibrate against the door and rattle. If the tweeter is touching the inside the door panel, it should be okay because the tweeter has a cover on it and the speaker itself shouldn't touch anything. I'm with these guys in saying to remove the door. It's fairly simple to do.

Will it work... yea, but it will sound like ****. Do like everyone said, there's a couple screws and a bunch of plastic clips and you're done. it's cake dude

no, its not ok for the speaker to be touching the door panel. Depending on what type and guage of wire you are running, it'll affect the total output and range of the speakers sound and give the effect of worst distortion.

door panels are easier to take off than emblems.

But he will most likely run into problems when trying to get the panel back on.

To get the panel off, there are 2 screws I believe. One underneath the door handle. The other one is located on the lower front of the door panel.

ha i got TYPE-S components in my fronts
by the way did u guys use honda speaker case or u followed the instruction and drilled out the door?

the honda speaker case will hold it u just gotta cut it out completely leaving only outside ring with screw holes in it and use the bracket that came with alpines that way it will have some space for the pannels

i tried to remove the panel of my sedan and i gave up after a while and walked away with sore fingers. i removed the 3 screws and floowed the TI guide but when i try to pry open the panel from the bottm it dont budge. i tried using a screwdriver as leverage but that just resulted in a bent speaker mount. taking car to my uncle who owns a body shop and just get him to remove em.
