Default Idle question

I have a 96 Acura Integra...fresh motor and up until a couple hours ago could not get it to turn on...Now That it does turn on it idles extremely high.
Any ideas on what it could be?

I didnt leave the car on long enough to notice CEL...but it wasnt starting due to the ground on the thermostat housing not being tight lol!

I keep checking the vacuum hoses...And I will check again I know its probably something so simple like that ground haha

Im a newb and all but is there an idle control valve? Maybe its dirty or something.

When the motor was built did you take off the intake? If you did it could be a bad intake gasket. That can cause high idle. Or the idle is just wayy off.

i put a brand new head gasket torqued to specs. When i start it..sounds like I stab the gas. Im sure it would idle at redline if i left it on

Yea, not head gasket but "intake" gasket.

Yeah I took the Intake off my bad...replaced the gasket with a new one. I was thinking that was it because im leaking fluid from the water passage on the intake.

Bump Have not had time to work on my ride but was hoping someone could give me a clue as to why my car doesnt idle
