Re: how do i tighten my alternator belt (Civiclx)
coming from the top of the engine, there is a bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket. lossen and with a big *** screwdriver, move the alternator outward. them quickly tighten the bolt. simple as cake.

Re: how do i tighten my alternator belt (92 gs INTEG)
hrmm, does any one have pics of this, cause all i see was a 12mm screw and bolt, i have a 98gsr engine in a 98 civic, I dont see any screw whatsoever, just bolt and nut. its already slid back as far as it can go on the backside and i can turn the belt around almost one time, so its a little loose

If your's look like this:
Loosen the alternator adjusting nut. Use a long prybar or screwdriver to push the alternator back towards the firewall, be sure to keep a ratchet on the adjusting nut. That way, once you feel the belt is tight, you can retighten the adjusting nut.
