home made 8$ resistor box, ls engine mount ?,
i made my own resistor box (im cheap and it was a rainy day)for dsm injectors using a circut board, project box, resistors, and so on. i was wondering do these resistors get hot, or warm cause i noticed that most of the stock boxes are aluminium with fins on it and i cant help but think they did that for a reason.
and cause i dont feel like making another thread i was wondering will 92 95 civic motor mounts work on a integra ls engine that is being droped into a 92 95 civic.
thanks for all help

that's dope that you made your own resistor box. but from what i learned in my ee classes the resistors will get hot. so the fins are there for a reason.
the mounts i don't know. i don't think so though because those are d series mounts that your trying to put onto a b series motor. correct me if i'm wrong.

to answer you mount question...if you do not want to buy after market mounts, you want to use stock integra mounts. they will line up perfectly fine for you. just make sure they are for a manual and not automatic

i kinda figured that they were gonna get hot but when i was sodering them to the board and they got warm(not hot) i noticed that the resistance changed from 10 to about 12.5 ohms and when it cooled it went back down to normal. ho can they get hot and the resistance changed? youd think that if the people who engineerd(cant spell) the resistors would know they were gonna heat up and would have planed for that in the equation? im not sure how critical it is that the resistors stay at 10ohms but i guess i need to figure in a way to cool them. no big problem tho.
as of the motor mounts i have energy motormounts for my d series in my 95 civic and i was wanting to know can i use the mount part or just the EMS or if i just need to go aftermarket. cause i riped the pee out of my stock ones all around. so i need ta do somethin . hmmm

What is the wattage rating on the resistors? Make sure you get the larger ceramic ones instead of the normal round electronic ones.

they are, its a 10watt 10 ohm. i think im going to cut a square hole in the top of the box and put on of those aluminium air foils that go on top of IC chips in computers on the top of the resistors to dissapate heat. and i think they got some sealer that will keep moisture from geting on it. my dad has a bunch of computer stuff so i think hell have it. i was trying to post pics but you gotta put them online and im to retarted to do all that. don know how it works. whata yall think??

All resistors change their resistance values with temperature. More expensive varieties usually have smaller temperature coefficients, but this completely depends on the type of resistor: thin-film, thick-film, carbon composition, ceramic, etc. If your resistance value is critical, you should measure it at the operating temperature, not ambient.

hmm good to know. well i guess im just gonna try it out. but if anyone has a car with a resistor box on if you could next time you drive it for like 30 min to a hour pop the hood and feel it and tell me if it heats up or if it warm. it would be greatly appretiated
