Help with diff problem!!!!
A few days ago my 91 integra stated shaking a little at low speeds and taking off red lights, it was making a loud metal puncturing noise when clutching for low gears and turning, I replaced the axles and the tranny seals but I still have the same problem just not as bad. I got under the car and notice a little bit of play on the intermediate shaft bearing so I got a new OEM bearing for it but the right side axle has a lot of play where it meets the transmission and it leaks a little. I'm sure it's my diff that's bad. I have access to a shop and tools. How can I fix this?

Re: Help with diff problem!!!!
Typically when you see a leak from both sides of the transmission it's the differential carrier bearings. Not the differential itself. The play in the shafts confirm this. To fix this the transmission needs to be removed and the carrier bearings replaced.
