Default Welded Cases

Anyone have any problems with them after being welded even from experienced shops No names pleases?

I have had no problems with the bell housing since I welded it. I have broken plenty of gears though!

from what i hear no mater how good the welder is the case is always distorted in one way or another! just someone elses 2 cents! lol

lil birdie told me that your only preventing more damage from a cracked tranny by welding it. eventually it will still break........




unless you got PPG gears lol

It may help to have the needle and input shaft bearings installed during welding and cool down.

Our experience was that pressing the needle bearing back in after the case was welded was significantly more difficult than in an unwelded clutch housing. It also made the bearings tighter against the shafts.

Mine had no problem installing the bearings nor did it make them "tight"
