Default GSR Question?


U Guys Knoe how in the bottom part of ur GSR cluster says
"Premium Unleaded Only"? what would happen if i put 87 or 89 Octane Gasoline?

after a while it would harm the motor but like one time it's ok................don't do it though

It means you have a high compression motor and running anything lower than 91 octane could result in knocking and detonation.

However, if you would like to start using 87 octane, I would be happy to trade cars with you. I know you will love my 92 LS with 142k miles!

yeah....im gonna hafta agree w/the running like **** and knocking and detonation part.......i always use 93 oct, but one time i got some bad gas and my car was running crappy untill that tank was gone....and it wasnt water in the tank eigther, it was just like the octane just wasnt high enough.

I've done it a few times. It could detonate I just drove slow for that tank of gas and everything seems fine. I wouldn't recommend you do it often though.

I sometimes use 87 in my GSR and it has never ran like ****. The ECU adjusts the fuel maps for it anyways...
