running on 205 50 15 tires so the odometer will be off
229k miles original gs-r motor getting about 31mpg
If I squeezed it out it would be about 350 miles to the tank

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
205/50-15 is only 1.7% faster over the stock 195/55-15
And I agree with the couple of posts about miles/tank not being a good way to measure. It's all about miles per gallon. Trip odometer reading divided by gallons pumped. Any other way and you can be significantly off.
My B18C1 DC2, 81.25 bore, USDM ITR pistons, CTR cams, Quiaffe LSD gets me about 27-28 MPG average. But if I run a full tank of only freeway miles, like on a long trip, I can get 30-31 MPG.
You said you have a DB GSR. So you're running B17A1? My DB2 GSR used to get about 27-ish MPG.

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
I must have a freak. lol. jdm gsr with most of the simple bolt ons. i get 33mpg with half ripping on it and half cruisin. 30-31 if i have a some races with my normal driving. Get 35ish if i'm mostly easy yet still ripp on it at least once on the drive. Normally get around 300 miles til i fill up and it only takes around 9 gallons to fill. one time i pulled off 370 miles to a tank but it took around about 10.5 gallons to fill. I love my gsr I'm always rippin around and never get below 30mpg. You do have to know how to drive to conserve gas though i think. i get around 30-31mpg on interstate but that's because i do at least 80 the whole way and like to do a couple pulls. lol.

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
Like nsxtasy and the other guy said, miles per tank means nothing. You need to figure your miles per GALLON. Also, you need to mention your time spent driving in the city vs highway.
I'm at about 80-90% freeway. Cruise usualy set at 70mph. Winter average for me is 33mpg. Summer is at 35mpg. I am also at 4500 ft above sea level, which helps with MPG.

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
Coming from a 5-spd 1.5L non-vtec Civic getting 550-600km's a tank, I'm kind of curious to see what I'll be getting with my Integra. I'm dropping in a stock B20B, and using the Ls tranny. Anyone have this set-up and know what they get?

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
haha. I just filled up 9.4 gallons of gas last night exactly at 300 miles on my stock 97 Integra LS w/ 98k original miles. ~32mpg. This was with about 40% freeway and 60% city driving. Shifting at 3k.

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
Mine is a 98 LS, Auto, Short Ram Intake, 162k
The most I have gotten is 300, I usually average around 260-280, @ 10.2 gallons. This is all normal driving and all highway. I wish it would be better.
I do need to change my o2 sensor, so I dont know if that will make a big difference.

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
For those who claims getting more than 320 miles on a 13 gallon tank then I am assuming your calculation is off. Only exception is a tune or modify gas tank. A bone stock Ls typically gets around 280-320 on a full tank, that's if your pushing it to E WITHOUT your car dying on you. Most of us, whether it's a Ls or Gsr, won't get pass 310 mile a tank. On average I believe, is high 280 to 300 only.

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
You could try hypermiling. This guy apparently got 40+mpg in his integra: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...icle-2947.html I don't have the patience for that though.

Not sure if you're talking about a 100% city driving with lots of stop and go, plus idle time, but my usual 50/50 highway/city driving results in 28mpg or so. Also, realize that lots of stop and go and idling is not a good measure of mpg.

Here is my old stock 95 LS. Did this on a regular basis. The miles were about 90% highway.

Re: GSR and LS average milage per tank
I have done nothing special with tune ups. In fact, that LS still had the OEM wires and the O2 sensor was changed out 80k miles prior. No engine rebuilds or anything. I think one of the bigger contributors is where I live. I'm at 4500 ft above sea level, so the air is thinner, which means less wind resistence and leaner burn. In my old HX, I was around 50mpg (which meant 400 miles/tank was no sweat. 500 miles was doable). My current GSR, I always fill up around 300 miles, and last time, I put in 8.7 gallons to full. Usually is around 9.0 gallons. Again, just regular maintenance, nothing special. None of that BS hypermiling, either.

A quick search for "miles AND tank" in the Integra forum yielded over 25 threads on this subject. There's already an on-going MPG thread in here.
