Is that OD or ID? because that makes a difference. Article on TI measures ID.

agreed...people who run the 2.5"-3" exhaust are running Turbo applications where it actually helps to have bigger piping. If your motor is fairly stock with bolt ons, 2.25" or 2.36" is perfectly fine.
