Changed timing belt/water pump...horrible hesitation
Just finished swaping out my timing belt and waterpump today in my 95 LS and now my engine is hesitating HORRIBLY. Not really even drivable. Everyone is telling me that it isn't a timing issue but I always figured that after messing with the timing belt you'd need to retime it.
Starts right up and warms up normally, just bogs and hesitates everywhere in the powerband.
Other Ideas?

i had a similar issue when i had to pull the head on my motor to do some work. when i put everything back together, the car started and idled fine but was sluggish, especially from a stop...
i replaced my plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor, even got a new fuel pump and fuel filter trying to diagnose the problem. turned out to be timing in my case - so triplecheck that you set it correctly...

Even though everything is at TDC and tension in the belt is proper? Whats the best way to adjust this?

You are probably off a tooth on your gear.
You can adjust it with the and a timing light.

Oh well, at any rate I took it to a shop cause I NEED it fixed and have no more time to expletive around with it. Ran good enough to get there. Hopfully its not gonna put too big of a dent in my pocket.

I was just making a reply to another post the other day about my recent timing belt, tensionor and waterpump install. The only tough parts to the job are the crank pulley bolt and the retiming of the cams in relation to the crank. I had to re-time mine 3 times to get it perfect. Now she runs sweet again. Oh, and to answer your question, the timing we are talking about is the cam timing in relation to the crank pulley. When you install the new timing belt, the cams have to be at TDC as well as the crank, and sometimes this is difficult to do the first try.
Ignition timing is also important, and is checked with a timing light. When I timed the cams the second time, the intake cam was advanced one tooth, and it caused my ignition timing to be way advanced. So they are related. Good luck to you.

No you cannot do this!! If you are off a tooth on the intake or exhaust cam, you cannot fix this with the timing by moving the dizzy. You need to re-check the crank and intake/exhaust cam pullys and fix the one that is off. There is a gretaarticle on how to do the timing belt on team-integra.net with pictures.
Face it- you are going to have to re-set the off gear- there is NO other way to fix this. Altering the "timing" with a timing light and moving the dizzy will advance/retard the entire timing of the inake and exhaust, not just the one you have off a tooth.
