Default Bad Axle?

K well just recently Ive had some vibration in the steering wheel and the whole car shakes too. Also yesterday when Im slowing down its making a thumping sound and is really noticable when I turn too. I know what the clicking sounds like but its more of a thumping sound. Should I got ahead and replace the axle?

I would say to give that a try...I would go under the car and give it a shake to see if it makes a sound...My car did the same thing when it broke car would vibrate under acceleration...

How's the wear in your tires? I was getting alot of vibration above 70mph recently and noticed that it was because my tires were pretty much done. Changed the tires and it ran fine after that.

I know its not the tires cuz it stops when I let off the gas. Is there suppose to be any movement in the axle?

And is there a difference between an ls axle and a type R?

try jacking the car up, pull the cv boot back so you can see in at the cv joint, i know my car did the same thing twice now (once on each side). it was the bearings all broke up inside the cv joint

It's gonna be the axle. I've gone through a fair share myself. Don't buy remans, it's not worth it. The new ones have the same lifetime warranty at most car part places. I bought mine at NAPA, NEW IN BOX, and haven't had a problem since.

I'd also check your upper Shock mounts... maybe they are a little loose.

That's my 2 cents.
