Default Differences between PR3 and PW0

From what I gathered PR3 is from the integra b16 and PW0 is from the Civic but what is the difference between the units? different redline?

The are essentially the same ECU, as long as you are talking about the obd0 version of the PR3.
I am running the PWO in my setup right now, which I do like better than the PR3, but once you chip it then it is all the same. There is also the fact that the PR3 has WAY more aftermarket support than the PWO does. PWO is also pretty rare compared to the PR3.

Later,
BR

i have a friend that is running the PW0 and it performs fine. He then switched it out for a PR3, and it idled like it had a bad IACV. Anyone know why? BTW, when he went back to the PW0, it ran good as always.

there are b16a from integras and crx/civic if you have a integra b16 you need a PW0, and the PR3 is for the civic/crx....the lines on the intake manifold are different

I think..

the JDM CRX Ecu has a vtec crossover set at 4900 RPM

where as the integra ECU's crossover is set at 5200

the pr3 is from an integra that has a cable speedo. the pw0 is from a civic/crx with an elecronic speedo. they send the pr3 with b16's because all of our cars have a cable speedo. i have read that vtec wont enguage if the car is traveling under 3mph unless you have a vtec controller. and if you want to hook up a jdm cluster, you need the pw0 ecu, from what i have read at least.

PR3 and PW0 are all about the same. A friend of mine who is a tuner says the PW0 is more tuner friendly but all in all the same. the speedo issue does not matter as the us civics have the vss in the cluster.

The PR3 is likely the rarer ECU. It only came in the Integra XSi as far as I know.
The PW0 has several varients. The main one being the PW0-000 for JDM CRX SiR and PW0-E00 (or PW0-X00) for EDM cars (or civic SiR / EDM VT civic)

The PW0-000 has a knock sensor board and its stock mapping is slightly different to the PW0-E00.

Over on pgmfi, there is the seemingly the same amount of development for the PW0 as the PR3, but more locations in the ROM have been mapped for PW0.

Although the SiR has a VSS on the tranny rather than the cluster, this matters not to the ECU as long as it gets a signal from one of them. You can run a PW0-E00 in a true SiR but not a PW0-E00 in a EDM VT crx since it wants teh knock sensor connected.

The PW0-000 as stock also has a 112mph limiter, I would imagine the PR3 has the same limiter.

I know im bring back an old thread by doing this but oh well..

The PR3 doesnt activate vtec if you a light on the gas. THis is to charish fuel efficency when your doing 80 mph on the high and vtec doesnt turn on, but if you give me 1/4 throttle or more, it turns on..

My budddy had a Pw0 and he says his vtec turned on no matter what throttle he was using, when 5200rpm came it switched over
