help SC61 will not spin at idle
its a big turbo and its non ball bearing. it might not spin at idle on a 1.x litre motor but you are getting boost when driving right?
yes
my motor is a 1.8 stock ls
does anyone know if there ls spins the sc61
maybe the compression might have something to do with it?

i have searched can't find anything, post the link if you go it
oh by the way if you start the car at cold idle the wheel will spin and if you let the car warm up a bit, the wheel then quits spinning

Pretty much all turbos I have bothered to look at while running do this. I have a little t3 that doesn't always spin at idle and that thing only has a standard wheel and .63 a/r housing.

thanks anyone else, last time before my turbo messed up i only made 272 and 260 torque at 15psi
so something wasn't right with the turbo last time
is there any troubleshooting i can do to make sure i'm just very nervous about it

the turbos i've owned spun at idle. i have a pt67 t4 on a 1.8 gsr. exhaust pulses are pretty strong and should have no problem pushing the turbo even at idle. i mean i can push the turbo with the slightest touch of my pinky finger and it will spin.
lol that's normally for a non ball bearing turbo to do that, my firend just bought a brand new T70 turbo, and put it on his fully fully built gsr and that **** still don't spin. but when he hits the gas pedel a tadd. that's ***** dirty. lol don't worry about it. if you want it to spin at 800rpms then go buy a gt sers. turbo, that runs about 1500. and then that **** will spin.
totally normal. I have a 1.9L gsr and a sc61 with stage 5 wheel, it doesnt spin at idle.
Also people. There is no such thing as a break-in for turbo's. Unless its the HKS (i think its hks) that has a coating on the inside of the conpressor housing and the wheel will actually shave some of the material off to create a tight clearance.

these people already told you , that IT IS NORMAL , what else do you want ??

i know right, you would think after Arturbo chimed in this guy would get the hint.
it is normal for some turbo's not to spin at idle. have you even driven the car to see if it hits boost?
