Ok I was reading a post last night from someone in Kirkland, Wa who just had there hatch stolen, so I was on edged. Well this morning at 5:00 am I get a page from my car. MY fiance goes out and sees nothing. 10 Min later it goes off again ( he said cats) I went to check it anyway. I see a blue Honda in the parking lot with 2 guys in it and its lights turned off. I realize my car alarm wont turn off and see that my hood it popped. I then see the guys turn on there headlights and leave real fast. I had to run into the house to get my set of battery backup siren keys. The cops were really nice and took fingerprints.

Thank goodness for battery backup sirens. Time for a hood lock but where can I buy one!!!

There are usually several auctions on eBay for them.
Search for "dei hood lock"

 

I'm not too far away from there. I'm gonna keep an eye out on my hatch just in case..

 

You got to do everything you can here in WA. I just moved to Kent, WA ( Seattle area) 3 moths ago and on the 08/15 my car was stolen from a store parking lot. Them idiots did not care that license plates were from CA. I guess why would they... they most likely drove it right into the Chop shop somewhere. I never had any security system installed, not even a freaking Club. Police were like, yeah we will try to get them. Like they're looking. I am glad your car was not stolen though. I hope it never does. Cuz it really sucks. I had mine paid off and all.

 

Caligirl.. it has all ready been broken into and attemped to be stolen and then 2 months later it was stolen. So where in Cali are you from? I was born in San Bernadino.

 

yeah my sister graduated from UW and when she went there her car got broken into.

 

Well you did have one thing in your fav...the backup bat siren.
What works is redundency.. a pinswitch covering hood,battery
backup and a hoodlock. Most peeps forget about the pinswitch...but
it had been proven that many hoods can be accesed from outside
of the car.
