How do I lower the car?
Hi,
yes the question sounds newb, but I am one so it makes sense...
Anyways I plan on getting rims for my car but I hear that it'll look like a 4x4 if I dont lower it...
My question is, what do I need to lower it? can I do it myself? and how much should these things cost ?
** do i just need 4 coil-overs?
** how do i know what to get to drop it enough? do they come in special sizes?
thanks for any help!

well you can do it at home if u got the rite tools, and if u want u can get coilover cuz it allow you to adjust the height of ur ride, or u can juss get spring which is permant height. iono bout camber kit cuz i hear some car dun need it, i juss buy it anyways the store can probably charge u like 40-60 buk for the labor and coilover or spring is depend on which brand you buy
generally coilovers suck ***, unless you have a good 1200 to drop on a nice set. for those of us who dont, an excellant option is available! a lot of H-T users have KYB AGX shocks and Eiback Sportline lower springs. from what i have read, and from what other people have told me, this is by far the best setup for the accord. you can find a nice used set of eibacks for like $75...sometimes in the classifieds, but brand new i think they are still only like $150. as for the AGX's, i believe they are in the $300 - $350 area. when it comes to suspension this is damned cheap. best bet is to stay away from the coilovers ESCPECIALLY the cheap ebay ones. lots of people complain of shitty rides with coilovers...good luck
and yes, with some handtools you *should* be able to do this...would most likely need someone for help aswell. i, personally, would invest in a spring compressor
edit: the springs that you buy will have the spring rate and drop and all that info when you get info on the product. i believe the sportlines are the lowest...i forget the exact drop, but do a search on them in here and youll find some hella info.
also, go to the Basic Guide For Accords at the top of this forum and read all the suspension stuff, and you'll be set

lol....
Yeah, I've got some Eibach springs and KYB AGX shocks. I was suprised after I lowered it how well the car rode. Been a few years and the ride is still pretty good considering the amount the car is lowered. Eventually I had the need for a camber kit. That pretty much rounded out my suspension mods.
