motor swap

Default motor swap

i have a 1995 honda civic dx it has the 1.5 litter. i am thinking about getting the 1.6 liter sohc vtec to put in it. do i need to get another ecu or get that one programmed. and that motor will drop straight in right.

yeah, you'll want to get the ecu, and wiring harness.

do you have the motor already? did it not come with it?

cheapest way to get it is through someone that has recently done a swap. check the classifieds...they go for ungodly cheap.

will any ecu 1.6 liter chip work on any 1.6 liter motor. i am not shure i haven't got the motor yet but i am not shure i don't think it comes with it. oh and the motor directly will drop in right i don't need to add anything special do i

yeah it'll drop right in, you want the p28 ecu from a 92-95 ex/si civic.

will the newer like 97 civic si or something like that. comes stock with a dohc vtec motor. will it fit in my car and if so what will i need to make it work or is it direct drop in

just save your loot and what for a b16 swap to come... beef sheng chao has specials every now and again... he had a complete b16 swap with mounts for 1800 shipped awhile back... check him out, http://www.jdmhondaparts.com

yeah but then i was gonna install the other motor i don't know how to install the b16a becuase you need the tranny and all kinds of other stuff right because i know it don't just bolt in

if you get a single cam vtec motor, you will want the tranny too. your dx tranny has the worse gear ratios known to man.

is that possible?? so you could keep the dx block and just get a vtec head and change the trans as well?

i was going to just put the vtec head on my motor but i have a whole in my block so i am just going to get the whole motor i guess.

if you get a complete swap you shouldnt need anything... check the link i gave you, he should still be having a special going on the pee16 conversions... and what kinda car is this going in?
