no i have a 00 si, and i tried jst putting a chipping a p28 and putting it in my si, and it backfired. i did this cuz my friend with a b16a3 said that it would be fine if i did that. u didt realize that his motor was odb1. i thot it was odb2, so i tried it. well now that i know it wont work, because youi cannot put an odb1 ecu i an odb2 motor. so i was thinknig about putting a gsr ecu in my si since its odb2.

how could mix and match them like that? There is no way to plug and play the different OBD's without conversion harness's....

wait, what??? the 99-01 ecu, aka SI ecu is an obd2B ecu and the GSR ecu is an ODB2a ecu, and they do make a conversion harness for the swap.

OBD2 ecu's can be either obd2a or obd2b. The OBD2a ecu's came in 96-98(correct me if im wrong) and the OBD2b came in 99-01(correct me if Im wrong again). They do make conversion harness's for that.
