i need help please

Default i need help please

Im doin a swap in my car from a 93 1.5 non vtec engine to a 99 1.6 vtec engine. I dont have a Ecu with the new motor and i dont know which one it uses, and is it obd1 or 2 or do i have to do some type of conversion or what. i really need help with this b/c i'm stumped on what i have to buy

a 99 motor will be OBDII. There are harnessess so that you can use an OBDI ECU with an OBDII system. Also I don't think your car is wired for VTEC, so you'd need to get a wiring harness also.

I really don't know much about swaps though, this is more of just a bump.

Stay OBD I.

You need p28 ECU.
Injectors from your old motor.
Distributor from your old motor.
And wiring harness from old motor.(ODB I harness)

Install all this on the EX motor and switch any sensors that wont plug into your ODB I harness to the ones from your old motor...

Then you just gotta add some wires for VTEC and everything should run fine...

Hmm I thought Non Vtec Distributors are different then vtec ones.. so if that was the case using his older one will not work.
