Default My Brake ducts (Pics)

I have had request for pictures of my Brake ducts so I will post them all here:

I puchased two NACA Ducts from Pegasus a few years back that where approx 6"x10" rectangles (I can't remember the actual size they started) I sat on my but in the driveway with a bench grinder and "trimmed" them into shape. Once they fit "good enough" I had them painted. I also had to remove the from bumper cover and remove the factory plastic grill with a dremel.

A few zip ties, 2 plastic license plate screws, some hardware store painted mesh, some plastic door edge guard, 2 silicone reduces and some metal reniforced ducting and this is what I came up with. This is a 5/5 project (5 feet at 5MPH they look good).

Note the plastic lic plate screw through the center to hold them in place:

It helps to have traction bars to zip tie the ducting to:

From about 5 feet away

I have experiment with a couple different ways to direct the air to the back of the rotors...............But at one point during an "off road excurtion" I ripped both ducts off of there mounts and ran them over. the result was I lost about 6" of duct so now they just "dump" the air about 2-3" from the back of the rotor.

The bend are there to get around the radiator when it is installed..........................

Your right there is nothing pulling the air, but I bet the 100+ MPH wind pushing does OK

How is that going to fit with a full sized radiator? The hose looks like it goes right over the lower radiator mounting tab.

Yeah, might have to use a Civic radiator.

I imagine it will fit just fine, since the ducts were installed before he pulled the motor

It looks like I'll be the first one to ask this but the brake ducts I'm assuming are for brake cooling, on say a roadcourse (the most likely place to experience brake fade) but does the traction bar work well on a roadcourse?

We there is no motor for a long period of time it leaves alot of time to clean the car,.......and I was shooting into the sun because I didn't feel like pushing the car around the other way.

Yes, The Ducts are for cooling the brakes on a road course and are very effective.

I have a couple thousand miles on the ITR from Gingerman. This is how I judged the performanceAll with Braided lines/no backing plates/ATE SuperBlue fluid

Porterfield R4S pads: After about the 3 20min session started to get some fade
Hawk Blues: Near the very last session of the day (5-6) started to get fade
Added brake ducts and could run a whole track day without brake fade.
Added NSX calipers and thicker rotors ran three full track days, 2 hard days at EXPO3 "The Beaver" and the following weekend at Gingerman .......................I didn't even bleed the brakes

I have recently (last year) switched to a Fastbrakes set-up with Willwood billet Superlites and 2 piece 11.75" Rotors, with the lack of a motor I have yet to test the set-up on the track.

I might be removing the front bumper cover and replacing it with stock if anyone wants to trade. Must be black and in no worse shape than mine

how did you(before ripping them and running them over) have them mounted to the brakes?

looks pretty good.. how much $$$ did the ducts themselves set you back?
