i dunno what u mean about headlight conversion on a 1st gen? only conversion is the jdm itr headlights on a 3rd gen. unless you can custom fabricate ****, then put any headlight you want. from this post, looks like 2nd gen wins.

If you like a boxy dash and car, go for the 2nd gen. If you like smooth curves and flowing lines, go for the 3rd gen.
3rd gen rules in my opinion. Plus lower mile 3rd gen tegs typically drive a lot tighter then older high milage 2nd gen tegs.

I personally like to see a nice second gen more than a nice third gen. This post is going to go nowhere because there are so many people with both makes.
The decision is ultimately going to be up to you and your preference. They both make relatively the same power.
As for the headlight conversion, there is only the jdm headlights for the DA tegs. Of course you could do custom body/headlights from a newer type r, but it is not authentic for the 90-93 years.

this topic has been beaten to death, and nobody's point is ever taken..... cosmetically, it's about 99% a matter of opinion. As far as performance, i'd say g3's have it all over g2's

it seems from my old thread that it's split 2/3rds to 1/3rd between 3's and 2's

If I had the time and ability to go back in time to where I started to get serious with the teg, I would prefer to have a DC or EG chassis for more aftermarket support / compatibility etc.... Don't forget, the 2nd gen is a chassis design from '87 (derived from the EF)...

Does that not make sense to anyone else? Of course a low mileage g3 will ride better than an OLD high mileage g2.
G2's are easy for a 1 piece conversion, just the headlights as opposed to the g3, hood, fenders etc...For what you can buy a g2 for leaves you with money to put into making it a wonderful vehicle to suit your needs.

more option for suspension
you can put jdm front
you can put stock recaros
there's so much to work off of
i dont know why anyone would be a g2 other than a daily beater, IMO
then again its your money..
