OBX sucks, heres my experience. (56k get cable and view this)
not really sure where this post belongs, sorry, but i figured id get a fair amount of attention here, and this is where I normally post.
So here goes, I purchased this OBX manifold two months ago, and ever since then, it has needed more weld jobs than I have had to fill up my gas tank. It has just gotten to the point where im done with it and I cannot stand it anymore.
heres the view from the top, the red outlines show all the cracks that had to get rewelded.
and from the bottom, its no differant story.
where all the pipes meet? no differance.
since i couldnt weld underneath bolts, i even had to weld inside the pipes.
continuing on...
my car sounds like a lawn mower because of this crack.
and of course, the crack wraps around to the top.
im no fortune teller, but this small thin lined flaw looks like its a crack to be, a future of welds awaits this manifold.
this is why i want no more part of this manifold, look closely, the pipe is cracking.
so in conclusion, this manifold is absolutely terrible. it has been nothing but a nightmare since the first crack. the welds looks absolutely amazing, but of course, looks can be decieving. I hate it, thanks for reading. post this post anywhere you find someone looking into buying an OBX manifold. Let someone benefit from my mistake.

that is probably one of the generation 1 manifold that they discontinued, they are a little different now. but i do feel for you bro, that usually occurs on hondas due to dropping timing back so far, and causing the cumbustion to happen as it leaves the cylinder, and take place some in the manifold, hence overheating

WTF!!! OBX makes turbo manifold?!?!?! Why would you buy a OBX turbo manifold? Their regular intakes fall apart! Sux to hear, send it back!

Not to say i'm standing up for OBX, just got one of their header installed. Not going to say headers because everyone will jump on that like flys. Running it now for about a month with no problems. Now a turbo header from OBX i would not trust, but mine seems to be working fine.

mine worked fine for the short period that i had it. never had a problem with it. it was the newer style ones though. i didn't even brace the turbo with it either.

YOUR WELDING SUX you should have tig welded it you would have a much better looking peice even after all that welding

alright alright... i figured id get flamed for buyin, the welding and all of the above.
i bought the manifold with the t3/t4 turbo and teh rest of the goods with it. wasnt my choice to get OBX but at 400 dollars, a completely used kit wasnt a bad deal. just need a new manifold and it'll all be legit.
the welding was done by a local muffler shop, i myself didnt do it.
OBX blows, ive learned by experience im just here to share with teh world.

Welding parts that are Saturated with by-products of an engine Is not the easist thing to do...... Espeically Tig Welding
The problem with that manifold is not the Welds, Its made out of very thing Tubing.

I beg to differ tell me how unless the original weld had a pin hole in it can you just crack a pipe in a header therer is not enough presure to blow something out like that thin walled tubing or not. I should know this i work at a machine shop and your right though that the welds didn't crack. almost never will the welds crack .
