I agree... you have to understand how expensive the supplies are. The paint itself can cost anywhere from 800-1400 depending on what type your looking for. So 3-$4,000 is a typical price for a nice paint job. Or you can go the other route and go to Miracle.

A regular paint job will cost you 1400~1600 I believe...nothing fancy or top quality but still...its a paint job.

well a good quality job will run about 3500.00-5000.00 but you can always try to go the 2000.00 route and that will be an ok job.. I paid 1900.00 for mine but I was sponsered by the shop and the job was a 4K job.. so I got an ok deal on it.

If you bought the paint and could find some guy to do it on the side for you, it would probably be considerably cheaper. I found some guy who will do a (supposedly) quality paintjob for $800 plus paint. I've heard it helps to talk to bodyshop employees.. HTH

Whatever you do, just do it right. I have no $ (student) and I paid $600 for mine. It looked great for about 9 months, but it started to chip in some areas........but what can I expect, I got what I paid for. If I had to do it again, I would do all te prep stuff myself. NO MAACO!

supplies will cost $500-$1000, depending if your going for a single stage paint or a two stage with base coat/clear coat. A good paint is PPG, Ive used it. They make better paints that might provide easier application, but PPG and other well known brands will last you a long time if applied right and taken car of, and will give you a factory looking finish. DON'T buy the paint yourself unless you know what your buying and don't mix paint systems, stick with one brand if you want it to last. Its best the painter buys it becuase he knows what he needs, and sometimes will be cheaper. You have to figure in the labor for removing moldings, which can be expensive. Then you have to figure out how you want to remove the dents. You can have paintless dent removal do most of it, using no fillers, therefor no chance of cracking. But dont get me wrong, fillers arent bad, when used right they will last a long time. I personally am going to go with Paintless Dent removal, A guy from dent wizard will do my whole car for $400 on the side, it normally will cost over a thousand, but depends. PDR will save the painter time on labor for removing dents, but might add up for the PDR work itself, but its worth it. Look down the side of your car, I guarentee under good light you will be surprised at how many dings your car has. Next find a good painter to do the job, make friends with the person to give yourself self-confidence. Have him do it on a side job, for example the guy Im using works at a college and teaches this work, and I have become friends with him, asking for advice and help with certain projects. He said he would charge me $1500 including supplies and me helping. Thats includes welding a patch where there is some rust, welding up molding holes and shaving everything but door handles. I will do allot of the work myself including primering and when it comes to painting I will probably do that to, but at his paint booth, with his advice. This is just to give you an Idea, my car is in pretty bad shape, lots of dings, rust, its starving for a paint job, but im building the motor first.
Let me know how it goes!

It depends, PPG makes different brands of paint, OMNI being the lowest, I use omni single stage, I've never sprayed a two stage paint, that will be my next project though. I've heard that some states are cheaper than others, I can dig up some reciepts if you like, but I dont no off the top of my head.
