Best Way To Prevent Your Car From Getting Stolen???
I know that we have all seen these "Stolen" topics many times so I was just wondering if anyone who has gone throught the experience or anyone else may know of a great way of preventing this from ever happening.
I cannot figure a way of my car not getting stolen because even with Boomerang 2, which is here in Canada, is so delicate that as soon as the tires move they are notified but if you were to get a Tow Truck and put dollies on each tire there is no way of them moving and therefore not detecting that the car is being tampered with.
Any suggestions people??

1. Garaged the R
2. Drive it once or twice a week on nice day just for a joy ride.
3. Use my beater most of time for daily work and shopping.
This is only way you don't loose your pride and joy.

Hide your locations on car forums, and beware who you show your ride to. Eventhough I don't own an ITR, after I am done out in town I usually take a different way home every week and pay attention to the cars behind me. So far, no problems here. (knock on wood)

best way is to get a garage. it's this simple though, if somebaody really wants your car, they will get it. it sucks, but it is true. (oh yeah get a gun, a really big gun!!!)

Think again.. Kept my ITR well protected, but still stolen, and only a chasis was found in less than 24 hrs... here is link to the thread:

i remember seeing a car comercial. it shows a crappy car parked on the streets. a dude walks up to it, looks around then he removes the car cover to reveal the real car.
wish they had that kind of car cover.

if you are paranoid about getting your car stolen... then don't own an ITR
as mentioned probably 1879084789289470343439080 times on this site.... if someone wants your car bad enough, they will get it
its the sad truth

common sense. seriously.
you can have the best security installed by the best shop in the world, but once you let your guard down, thats it. read some past threads on stolen itrs, and you will see that theft could have sometimes been prevented by just being a little more alert or better planned
good luck

that works for most of the time, a friend of mine had a bad experience. Some one got into his garage and try to steal both of his cars. luckily he was awake and heard some noise, and was able to scare them away.

take out the motor, interior, and suspension, and go bury it in a hole in the woods somewhere. be sure to cover your tracks. then take the shell, kick in all the door panels and fenders, break the glass, and store it in a garage with a triple pad lock, blocked in by 35 SUVs. that should do it.
Some suggestions:
1. Garage the car
2. Have at least 2 kill switches
3. Steering wheel lock
4. Autolock the clutch and brake
5. Pull the ECU
6. Pull an ignition fuse chip
7. Detachable steering wheel
8 . Onstar car alarm & pager alarm
9. Take off all your wheels
But then none of that helps if they decide to tow your car...

There is Boomerang in California/West Coast now in the US and the Lojack Early Warning System (with a slew of other companies).
What do you mean by "get a Tow Truck and put dollies on each tire there is no way of them moving and therefore not detecting that the car is being tampered with." what does the dolly look like?
-aoibot, who wonders about these dollies.
