URGENT!!! HELP!! Rear Disc Conversion Help!!!
I had just recently finsih installing my rear disc with my buddy 0ptimus Prime, i have the 5th gen EX accord setup in my 96 lx. We finished it just a few moments ago and everything was going well and the test drive was awesome with way better breaking power when we noticed this hardcore grinding sound coming from the rear passnger side discs!!! We got outta the car and took a look a noticed that the top part was getting CHEWED UP. I'm pretty sure we did the swap in accordance to how it should be, but now its grinding like crazy everytime the cars in motion it grinds. Any ideas why that is? Its really irratating to the point where i cant really drive around with it. The top part of the disc was getting chewed, but that was only on the rear passenger side. Any help is appreciated. TIA.

yeah, all the rotors and pads are new. Brembo Blanks with Axis Ultimate Pads. I was planning to take it all apart, and reassemble it tomorrow morning. I hope i can still use the pads and rotors, i just got them.
yeah, i bled the fluid and everything, it feels perfectly fine and good braking. It just grinds like crazy, even when i'm not steppin on the brakes. I was just wondering, how could a bad caliper cause only for the top part of the rotor to get chewed up?
it kinda sounds like maybe the piston isnt retracting fully at the top. I don't know what'd cause this, though, maybe proportioning valve? I really have no clue.

it could be that you got the wrong bracket for your rear calipers.. maybe the guy who sold the brackets gave you the wrong year of the car.. or just the wrong bracket.. The grinding looks like the bracket is too short for your disc.. i'm not positive but could be a possibility.
If everything is new it could be just the new pads/rotors but that shouldn't be happening. To be on the safe side I would unassemble that side and check for bent parts and make sure the caliper is withdrawing as needed.
Looks good though

I had the same problem, For me I just haddent put in the buterfly clips in the calipers/springs , so then the pads were just moving back and forth and making banging and clanking sounds and then they'ed get stuck and start grinding, really anoying.
But the only thing that could be grinding the top of the rotor would be, if the rotor is too big or the caliper bracket is too small.

I am interested in doing what you did, to my 95 LX. What all parts do I need to convert from drum to disc, and about how much did it cost?
It cost me 150 for the entire setup at the junkyard, and about 200 more dollars for new brembo blanks both front and rear and new axis ultimate pads.
Everything you see here is all you need.

I am planing on doing that also with my 97 lx accord. I just want you to tell me if i got everything down and there isn't anything i am mising. I am going to take the setup off of a 97 accord se because it is my year. everything from upper to lower control arm. take of my 97 lx and attach the 97 se bled my brakes new pads and rotors and maybe calipers and there i have it. If there is anything I am not accounting for please let me know so i can take that into account. thanks alot. also since you have did it do you think it is worth the conversion or is the stock drum brakes better?
