Default Check your oil Pans...Dented Oil Pick-Up

I have had my motor swap in for almost 2 yrs now and haven;t consistantly had VTEC until now... what a great feeling. I have been fighting to get this thing working for so long, and now, thanks to H-T it is!!!
My oil pan was damaged when the motor was shipped...it damaged my pick up line at the same time...

This is the Pick-up after I pulled it out.

A few things scared my to death when I took my pan off. First I found about 6" of what seemed to be electrical tape on the screen itself... I have no Idea how that got there...
I also found an inch long peice of metal that was curved and not magnetic sitting on the bottom of the pan. I have no Idea what it could be off of, but I am afraid to think of it I'll post a pic as soon as I find the peice.

Basically thanks to everyone that helped me figure this thing out, it was way past due. Any ideas on the metal peice? Do you think I need to get a new pick up or should this one do ok?
TIA!

I have a spare oil pickup tube for your motor that I'll let go cheap, should you need one.

SO you bent it back? Did it bend back easily? I would be worried of the metal weakening, but then again that's not really a high-stress part.

Yes, the metal did bend fairly easy, as it is realatively thin. It's didn't seem like it was creases or weakend though, so I think I will be ok.
The fact that after 2 years of this no real damage happened, I think that it woud be ok to use the current one.
Anyone else have any ideas?

I assume that you are talking about the peice of metal that I found in my oil pan... I still haven't found it, but I'll keep looking. It was a greyish color and was shaped almost like a warped triangle, with one of the sides being flat, and one curved, (those were smooth sides, not broken off of), and the last jagged.
The metal was not magnetic, so I assume that means that it was aluminum? Does that help? I will keep looking for the pic
