As far as the RHD, you can see in the last pic that as far as the engine bay goes, I'm about 75% complete with the the bolt on stuff... outside, there's mostly only electrical to run...
The INTERERIOR however, is a completely other story. Tomorrow, I'll be welding in the steering-column mounting-bracket and a few other things so that I can at least STEER the darn thing while pushing it in and out of the shop... have a look:

Man, that looks GREAT. Now that is a BIG project. And I thought getting my H22 swapped in (hasn't happened yet...hopefully soon) was hard.

Since it's a Right Hand Drive conversion, I had to completely remove EVERYTHING - in and out - as the firewall had to be completely cut out, and swapped with the RHD one. Lot's of removing, moving, cutting and welding. The wireing part is coming up soon, and that's the part that will be the most tedious, I beleive!!!

Since it's a Right Hand Drive conversion, I had to completely remove EVERYTHING - in and out - as the firewall had to be completely cut out, and swapped with the RHD one. Lot's of removing, moving, cutting and welding. The wireing part is coming up soon, and that's the part that will be the most tedious, I beleive!!!

every thought about simply welding a RHD clip in? Or is this not strong enough? Thanks, as I have always ben wondering.

Personally, I would NEVER even THINK about cutting my car in half! I can't even start to think what a nightmarish headache that would be. I would imagine that there would be so much more to worry about (getting the body together straight, lots of body work, etc) when doing that as opposed to just a "simple" firewall,steering rack, and interior swap (which I can handle on my own)... either way you do it, you end up taking the entire front of the car apart. I'd just feel better if it wasn't hacked and chopped!

It looks really awesome, but now that it's spring/summer i bet your really missing that motor, If you wanted it clean you should just like removed the ps or a/c. lol j/k man that's a pimp motor bay. I'd love to trade ya.
i helped my buddy cut his eg hatch, and we welded on a jdm front clip (shifter forward), actually turned out perfect, drove awesome, i wish i had a pic to show
We got the clip from Import Auto Salvage in NC. We purchased two of them at the time, and paid something like $500 each. One was a complete clip minus the engine headlights, and bumper cover, (fender dings, scratches, etc...) the other was from shifter to shock-tower.
Neither was anything you would cut a car in half for and weld back together, but the interior, dash, etc was mint on both, and they came with the JDM stereo, DSP, and digital climate controls.

Made a bit more progress the other day...
Welded in the main column support brace, fitted the bracketry for the crash bar and steering column support, and test fitted the steering column and linkage to the steering rack.

This is exactly what I want, cause I am a semi-skilled welder and would do the firewall replacement, pretty much just as you have. Once again, nice work!!
