i bought this jim fab off a guy on honda tech, for the moment will remain nameless, but today when i went to install it, it didn't bolt up on one side.
my conclusion is that the bar is bent. i basically just want to make sure it is before i get really pissed off at this guy.

so whats the word? cuz i paid this guy close to what these go for new.

 

You sure it's not upside down? Sorry, just a thought. I don't know how they mount.

take a look at the pics...thats **** is bent like a ****...

 

Well comparing side to side it definately looks bent I would assume they would be equal sicne well the car itself is equal

that one bolt is off by less than an inch... that part bends easy just put it in a vice, would take 2 mins to fix

He should have, but I wouldnt think you'd buy somthing from someone with such a low post count.....

THAT TO ME USUALLY DOESNT MEAN **** and I rank on other people for acting so hot cause they have a ton of posts, but it does help in trusting someone, If I wanted to sell somthing bad and I knew about this site it would be almost to easy to sign on a different user-name have like 10 posts sell the **** and be done.

Dont think Im against you or anything you deserve your money back for sure......but I have to say shame on you for bad judgement....(this is all in reference to you not knowing this guy personally if so well then I have no right to say what I said, but if you never met this guy and this is what happened then Im sure you learned a valuable lesson.)

oh yeah, I took my crossmember off before and when i went to put it back on the next day, the bolts wouldnt line back up... i was like wtf?! ended up having to legpress the chassis while my buddies bolted it back in. If you still have the old crossmember, I would double check and see if the bolts still line up. just a thought.

Common, did you get it for like 40-50 bucks? if then i would heat it up and bend it back but if you paid a good buck and its bent... Id be pissed. I have no remorse for people like that *******.

Nevin, be a man and refund his money. By the looks of it that thing was bent before shipped. You should also pay for the shipping back to you.

if he dosent refund it he will never sell his **** on H-T again.

BTW the guys car was in a front end collision thats why the bar is bent. And the manifold hes selling has no wastegate, snapped right off in the accident!

I dunno, I've got two sides to it....

On one hand, there is my Honda-Tech perfectionist state of mind saying you're right he shouldn't have sold you it saying it was good when it wasn't.

But on the other hand, there is my DSM side saying you're a baby for not even trying. If you try to fix it and it works, so be it, maybe he'll send a bit back. And if it doesn't work at all, or is too soft because of the bend, then ask for big refund.

Asking for a huge refund and still keeping something that is perfectly useable if worked for a second or so just seems unreasonable.

So in the end... Hey give it a shot, save yourself some shipping costs and this n3vin chump some time, and just see what you can do, if it sucks, then yeah go for the big refund.
