Default how do i paint an intercooler?

I've already tried a search and nothing came up. My question is this: how do I effectively paint my intercooler black or flat black? And will this in any manner affect it's cooling abilitiy? I'm trying to keep the car as 'sleeper' as can be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

ive never done, all though ive thought about it after seeing a friend who did i his on his civic coupe.. he just used flat black paint and sprayed very lightly over the intercooler fins, not a lot is needed as if you use to much it will clog the fines.. not very hard at all.. you cant even tell his car is turboed looking at the front of the car its great to roll up on people like that!

I know that Greddy makes an intercooler that comes black already but for 800.00 bucks--I don't know. A 345.00 Spearco unit is fine by me. Just wish it was black!

There are people on here that also put stockings over their intercooler. I have seen pictures of this done and you could not even see the intercooler. You can pick up a black pair for a couple bucks and you won't have to worry about clogging the fins with too much paint. Just another options. This is the route I am going to take when I am turboed again.
