Default GSR in DA--2 extra plugs-pic inside.

on the 0bd0 ls harness there are these two plugs.
they are:
blk and wht/grn=Engine oil temperature switch.
blk and yel/grn=engine coolant temperature switch.

The gsr motor does not have these, ????

just to be clear, the engine coolant temperature switch(above) differs from the engine coolant temperature sensor.

yes, engine coolant temp switch and sensor are different.

The ect switch simply tells the radiator fan when to turn on. The blk wire is a ground wire. the yel/gn wire leads to the radiator fan relay

The ect sensor is a sensor that the ecu looks at. I believe the grn/wht wire ties into a ground. The red/wht wire leads to the ecu and the TCM if so equiped.

Have you checked the thermostat housing of the b18c motor? The 90-91 DA's have the ect switch on the back of the block, while some (maybe all?) obd1 b series engines have this switch on the thermostat housing. I know this is how my b17a was. Also, the switches look different. The 90-91 b18a ect switch uses a plug that looks sorta like a black "hersey" kiss (the connector on the right in your picture)... its not the normal plastic connector used for most things. But the ect switch on the b17a was of the normal plastic plug design. If you have a gray 2 pin sensor/switch looking thing on your thermostat housing....this is your ect switch. Cut the connector off of your obd0 harness, extend the wires so they reach the thermostat housing, then solder on the ect switch connector from the harness that came with your gsr motor. Now your ect switch will be wired up correctly.

As for the ect sensor.... This sensor was on the side of the head for both my b18a and my b17a. They are in slightly different spots, but still on the distributor side of the head. On the b17a its basically directly below the vtec solenoid.... so look for a 2 pin sensor in that location on your b18c. Its been awhile since I've worked on a b18c......so.....

Hopefully thats at least of some help.

The oil temp switch is for the A/C (believe it or not) it does the same thing as the ECT sensor but only for the A/C.
