Default lower radiator leak... any experience with this?

hey guys,

as cars tend to do, my 89 crx si (all stock) just popped a leak out of the blue. Its the green stuff... haha. So i took off the lower plastic plates under the radiator and looked, and it seems to be coming from the drain hole. Not the hole with the plug in it, but the small hole on the bottom of the drain plug housing that will start draining when you back the drain plug out. Well, the drain plug is freakin wrenched in there good. I have no idea why it would be leaking.

I checked to see if it was just the lower hose or radiator itself leaking and just collecting in the little hole, but its not. anybody had this happen? is there a better fix besides just putting rtv in there?

Jon

I just used the good ol' RTV silicone. Never had a problem.

Just back out the radiator drain plug and replace the o-ring on it. THis should solve problem.

They get old and brittle, you know
