my shifter has too much play!!
um. my shifter has to much play even though its on a gear! how can i fix this?? i want it so that when its on a gear theres minimal play.. is there like a thing i need to tighten or something?? also my car is a 88crxhf
< same here. I drive my gf's 98 ex w/the poly bushings, or my buds 2k integra and I hop in mine and im just having to become accumtomed to the slop.
Is there another way around this? b/c at first when i did the shifter bushings it was nice and tight.

We still do this modification... if you are interested in it, please contact me at ComposiMo@RPIracing.com. its a bit expensive, but that is because the joint we use is extremely expensive.
But it is worth it
By the way, if you were doing a swap at the same time, and provided the linkage from a 90-91 'teg, we'd be able to do the shortening at the same time, and it wouldn't cost much more at all, since we basically have to do a bit of cutting anyway....

If you have a stock shifter rod then the bottom bushing is probably worn. It happened in my old crx and hb and replacing the shifter rod fixed the problem. The bushing that connects the rod to the linkage starts to have excessive slop making your shifter move around excessively in and out of gear. HTH
grab your shifter and try rotating it in the upright position ..as in can you turn it clockwise and counterclock wise a bit ?then that means the shifter rod bushing is fubared and you need a new one. Buying the ES kit won't help that.
The shifter bushing is located in the bottom of the actual shifter.

Yes, it is still $175 (plus shipping of course).... Let me know if you want this done. We've done quite a few of these over the course of the last few months, but they've all been local, and i don't think that any of the people i've done this for are on this board (could be wrong), but i may be willing to give a lower price to someone on this board, just to have someone from here to vouch for how good it makes the shifter feel.. hehe
I've got a B&M shifter, stock ****, and the ES shifter bushings.
I've got a little play while it's in gear, but also I can push the shifter down so it hits the exhaust pipe.
I think either the piece that holds the bushing on the shifting rod is loose, or can the ES bushings shrink?
I haven't been able to check it out yet.
ComposiMo. If I get this joint, could you do up a rod for me, and I send you the core back in? b/c I can't be out of my car.
