i am interested in purchasing one but i keep getting it mixed up is the b20z JDM motor the one with higher compression or the b20b????? fixing to replace my old destroyed motor(byebye b18b ) with something a lil more power so i want to make sure i get the stronger of the 2 not looking to do vtec either just a decent b20 nonvtec swap with maybe a skunk 2 IM and ITR TB wit some cams later down the road.

JDM=more horse. for the money you are about to spend, just rebuild the ls and bore it out to 84mm.

isnt one of the motors rated at like 126hp/133/tq and one rated at like 145hp/133tq?????


reason why i am not rebuilding the b18b because that **** is housed ill post pics of it maybe in a week or two after we pull apart the head and check it out. but yea also i need to have the car up and running so i wont miss any school when coming back to the states( leavin for 2 weeks to thailand )

 

jdm has the 146 flywheel hp.

 

o ok guess hmotorsonline misprinted it because they have it saying 126

if i wanted that i would go back to a single cam vtec or soemthing lol.

so i would want a JDM b20z correct?????

ok that tells me something i kno there are 2 manifolds on the car sorry to be a idiot but what in gods name does that mean to me tunnel ram is that the box looking IM or is it the one wit the tall runners????

the b20z is a diff obd... 99 and up(i beleive) has domed shaped pistons to higher compression

so is there a JDM b20 with higher compression like the b20z or no????? if so i can tell teh difference of the block by the manifold???
so the girraffe manifold the one with the long runners is the one with lower HP correct????

They don't make any USDM 99-00 b20b but I dont know if they make JDM. I personnaly have a B20z. I didn't drive it for a long time but man it's real great from what I see. I dont think going JDM on B20 motor will make a difference because they dont have more HP then the USDM

I'm sorry i meant that the usdm b20b was equal to the jdm b20z and usdm b20z was equal to the jdm b20b. thats what you just said

now the problem is finding that b20b JDM one that has the higher compression. i called up Hmo and i asked him is there a higher compression b20b JDM and he was like no. wtf. i also called up JDMhondaparts.com and asked about them and they dunt seem to give me a answer. &gt;

 

why not just get the USDM b20z. You will be sure that you get the higher compresion one

 

ima call a couple places up but the junkyards around ehre will want a arm and a leg for them. probably
