Default h22 -> crx

hey before anybody starts going off on me i know that it will cause bad understeer and everything else, this is going to me a mostly strip only car besides taking it out every once in a while to **** with people in town. does anybody make a mount kit for this swap, shift linkage, etc. what kind of cutting and smashing do i need to do to the frame for this to fit?

never done the swap personally , but I know that place racing offered a really cruid kit that envolved welding so not really a bolt on affair. i dont think anyone else makes a "bolt" on kit. its a tough fit deffintly a challengle. goodluck.-pdang

Someone did it here about two years ago...lots of stuff had to be relocated and rewelded. They used a Place Racing kit. Definitely unique, but I don't think its cost effective.

And I beat him with by B20vtec power'd EK.

I have a good friend who fabbed his own mounts about 3 years ago....H22 with hydro tranny and lsd into his 89 Civic hatch.

Bone stock swap and cheap exhaust on 20 inch slicks he ran a 12.8 at 2k feet elevation!

This is daily driven also

i see guys with 92-95 civics with the h22 swap and Hasport makes a kit for it. what are the main differences between the 92-95 civic and 88-91 crx's? is the engine bay larger or what/

No such thing as a bolt in kit. I've heard bad things about the PR kit aswell. I wouldn't trust anyone to make a kit to get the axles in a good location - infact. it's impossible to get the axles in a good location unless you knotch out your rear cross-member. You need to knotch for the tranny and the vibration dapener (if you want to keep it stock.)

Understeer is not that big a deal. Only "Talkers" will tell you this - i want to run over these people with my "heavy" h22a crx right after i kick there *** in a drag race.

I have a little write up in the EF section about the h22a swap. Hopefully one day when i get off my lazy *** i'll make a real write up with some pics. IM message me to get some non-BS answers about this swap.

I think he paid 600$ for the mounts....
But we did the whole swap and turbo **** and his bill was about 3k.

yea i can do the swap myself if i can get mounts from you and i would need the wiring done. i could either bring the car to you or send you a harness whatever would work best for you.

kinda dumb ? but if i put that h22 in my car why couldnt i just use the harness out of the prelude and a ecu out of the prelude and not have to rewire anything. you guys proally think this is a dumb *** ? but im not really smart when it comes to electronic type stuff and how the electrical system makes the engine run.

I need the car/motor to build the mounts.
There is a lot of clearancing to do

The easiest way to do the wiring is Using an obd0-obd1 conversion harness/adapter and add the neccesary wires(which isn't much)

I can do the Obd-obd1 conversion if you dont want to buy the conversion adapter, but that thing makes things much easier.
You will need to add wires for Vtec, Knock sensor, etc.......

yea i could bring you the car and engine, it would be sometime this summer tho cuz i still dotn have enough money for everything yet. yea i could get the conversion harness and everything but i would still proally bring it to you just to make sure i dont screw something up. you have any clue of what you would charge me to just go ahead and do the swap if i bring you the motor, axles, harness and everything else, just for you to fab the mounts and put the motor in and do the wiring

no axle issues
We used 87-89 integra axles and on the Drivers side we put the prelude inner CV on the Integra axle mated with the Prelude intermediate shaft...

Very nice. I wonder if custom axles are made for high HP setups like civics with H22.

I know that many eg and ek owners use the same setup. Someone has to make some...

Yea there are axles out there..
I believe the Gator axles guys have some or at least offer odd ****.
It was pretty simple to put axles in, At first i thought I was going to have to have some cut, but i went next door to the parts warehouse with my tape measure and they worked fine....
im in the process of putting an h22(f20b) in my car right now as we speak... 95 civic
