Default difference in f22 vs f23

was wondering if it was the crank or the bore, that add that .1 of displacement.

slightly larger bore and longer stroke.

so it does have a longer stroke...anyone know the stroke.

i also need to know the main and rod journals size.

the reason is i am building a stroker h-series. people use the h23 crank so i started there. then i found out that f22 uses the same crank as the h23. so then i started thinking if f22 crank works, how bout f23. i figure if the main's are the same size it can be done.

once i know the stroke i can figure the custom piston pin hight, cause i plan on using h22 rods to keep the r/s ratio as good as possible.

that should help you out quite extensively....

F23: bore = 86mm
stroke = 97mm

F22: bore = 85mm
stroke = 95mm

i am doing a similar build, but am using an f22 crank...it seems to be working just fine...i'm building for boost though, so i'm using brand new oem h23 pistons and rings instead of rebushing the h22 type s pistons and going for high compression stroker...good luck with the build...

A guy I know who was making stroker kits for the H23 used F22 parts for his.. So I'm guessing the F22 would be wise..

thanks,

im going boost myself also. according to that, the f23 is sohc, will this make a difference. i wouldnt think it would matter for the crank.

also that doesnt tell me the main sizes, which is very important. i dont think i can use h22 rods w/that crank, there isn't enough room on the pistons to move it that much. maybe ill use the h23 rods.

what is the forumla for figuring r/s ratio. also for dis-placement. i know i could fig it out, but im being lazy.

for main sizes you may want to find someone with a helm manual or buy one yourself if you won the engine.
and for figureing the r/s ratio....the forumla is right in front of you and you already typed it out once.
and for the rods....h23a1 rods=f22a/b rods
