Default this is a engine builders question

the only cranks iv been able to find for our h22 motors are 100mm stroke.. and stock is 90.. so with a 100mm stroke wouldnt that put the piston into the head with stock sized rods? or am i way off?

lol yeah it'd be 10mm taller... which is crazy.

what crank is 100mm? heres what I remember:
H22: 90.7mm
h23 : 95mm
F22 : 97mm

the rods should be different too shouldn't they ?

I think he means aftermarket, such as the BC kit

go with a honda crank, h23 crank plus type-s pistons is a nice, cheap, reliable combo

actualy the f22 is 95 mm also its the f23 that has 97 mm but the crank journals are different size so yeah unless you want to use the f23 bottom end i would just get the h23 rotating assembly and put that in with the type s pistons

F23 crank is 55mm mains, so you have to use the A4 block. The F22, H23 and H22a/a1 cranks are all 50mm mains and can be interchanged between

FYI

thats why i said the journals are different size. and the h23 and h22 blocks are almost identical except for the the open deck on most h22s and the closed deck on h23s

yeah the crank im talking about was a crower crank. i was just looking at prices just incase mine is messed up.. i think the bearings went and im trying to sell this motor either needing bearings for cheap of fixin it and selling it for a littel more.

what do u think if the motor was able to start by its self and run and idel by its self, but with a horriable (in my opion) knock and only was an audible knock for just over 2 miles.. but under 3 are the rods/ crank still striaght or what?

dont mean to thread jack but i have a question that you guys may be abl to answer.

h23 block/rods/crank with typ s pistons is a 12:1 ratio right? is that reliable?
can i use pump gas with that?
h23a1, does it have full float wrist pins?

I was just clarifying your post And not all H22s were open deck, only the newer ones

and I'm running an H23 crank, H23 rods, and Type-S pistons, the only special machining was boring the little end on the rods for the full floating pins. Runs on pump gas and I daily drive it with stock headgasket and everything. I highly recommend this setup, I got the entire block, head, and all parts/machine work for right around a grand.
