What makes Precision Turbos better than any other?
Eh... This has probably been asked before, but HEY... I never b*tched at any of you for reposting so I don't wanna hear it...
I've been looking into them and what makes them so much better? An honest question here... If I have a Garrett/Turbonetics/Majestic/Whoever Stage3/.63 with a .50-trim Garrett wheel and a 360-degree thrust bearing (or ball-bearing even), what makes the SC50 a better turbo??
I like Precision as a company.... In fact Art and I bought probably their first batch of T-shirts at a Fun Ford Weekend event maybe 2-3 years ago... before they probably even thought about "Sport Compacts"
Actually now that I remember I think Art bought the shirt for Melanie.

I dont really think anything makes them better than some of the others like garett or turbonetics I like both of these but Precision does add their own finese to the turbine housing to help with flow. I choose Precision b/c of their prices and the service they have is outstanding also because the SC-61 is the **** for a T3/T4

Do you have spefically what Garrett GT technology they use?
I already understand they have their own turbine housing castings (thanks 30psi teg). That's a good thing.

i think arturbo makes them better than any other
precision turbos are definately good, but for an equivalent turbo it is no better than a garret turbo. There are many other companies that use GT technology, other than precision.

You mean we should get claims, hype, and marketing from someone trying to sell us something as opposed to turning to an experienced peer group that has been able to compare/contrast these turbos with hands-on experience? Oh, I know exactly what you mean about not trusting myths from i-people, half this forum is opinionated idiots jocking something they don't fully understand, but there are experienced people here who you should listen to (then take a grain of salt and think hard about it anyway).
So, let's take a nice example here, something I know first hand. OverblownTeg's 94 GS-R has SC61 and tubular ss manifold; Shawn W's 95 GS-R has HX35 and cast revhard manifold. Aside from those two things, their setups are identical. Riddle me this, the base tune I gave them from OverblownTeg's car, which ran 11.3-11.7:1 AFR under boost had to have 30% more fuel added in so it wouldn't lean out with the HX35 equipped car. We all know no two cars are identical, but what gives here? Ah, nm, it's an i-myth, forget me.
