Default S2K 'Start Engine' button in an ITR....?!

As new member of H-T.C, I'm curious to know if any other ITR owners have a fully-working S2K 'Engine Start' button?

I do....I had it installed just on 1 year ago, by my local Honda dealer -

It came about, when I commented to the salesman (who owns a S2K) that the two things I like about his car that my ITR didn't have (beside the extra power), was the 6-speed gear box and the 'Engine Start' button. He said he couldn't help me with the gear box, but could with the button; as they had done it for another customer.

So I forked out the AU$110 (~US$50, but I'm sure the button would be cheaper than this in the States?) for the geniune S2K button and had them install it. This entails moving the dash dimmer dial, from the the right to the left side of the steering wheel, inserting the button in the hole that remains (it fits in perfectly, like it was made for it!) and rewiring the ignition to the button.

It's works/looks way cool and I don't know why the ITR didn't come with it to start with; as it's the ultimate 'boy racer' (aka 'riceboy') accessory!

Happy starting all....

I threw a S2k button in my GSR, but I didn't want to have to move the dimmer switch or tear apart the dash, so I put it where my cigarette lighter was and I relocated the lighter somewhere behind the radio and that whole mess.

I think it looks good there and a lot more people notice it then I think they would on the dash. People like to start the car, and it's really easy for people in either seat to do so.

I tried to take pictures before but they came out crappy.

The S2K button lights up too, and the color matches my head unit's red glow perfectly so it looks great at night.

That sounds really cool! Any idea how much this would cost from the dealer and how much the install would be? The dealer is too far away for me...I'm too lazy

I wonder, does the fuel cut-off function of the key chip still work?

Just to clarify, the S2K button alone was AUS$110....then you need to add $$$ for approx 1-2 hrs labour from an Auto-Sparky (just makes sure he knows about Hondas).
