Default turbo options with greddy cast mani.

Hey guys, was wondering what other turbos will bolt up to the greddy cast manifold that comes with their sohc kit.

Should I upgrade to an 18g or will a t-series fit etc.....

Any advice is appreciated.

i'd jus spend money on getthing the turbo you want instead of spending $ modding a smaller one. if you were running a T3 series turbo then you could change out compressors n turbines etc....but those wont bolt up to your manifold. at least not without some modifications to the flanges.

the eclipse flange is different. more of a square flange with a round inner opening unlike the T25's square opening with rounded corners.

*someone buy my hKS b-series manifold for the T25 or greddy turbos!*

gettting the turbo to fit onto the greddy sohc mani is no problem... but once you tighten it to the block you are in some trouble. the sohc greddy turbo barely clears my block. i can only imagine a larger turbo. unless you run some kind of adapter/spacer plate upgrading to a larger turbo is gonna be more problems with the greddy sohc mani.

Now my question is about the new 19t turbo. i was wondering if greddy released a new sohc mani that rotates the turbo a lil... just like the dohc mani. Anyone know?

we ran into trouble clearing the T3 on our buddy's sohc this past weekend and we solved the problem easily. we made a custom elbow-type adapter from the HF adapter plate to the T3 flange and bolted the turbo up from there. it sat the turbo forward more and with a bit of an angle. looked great. made it out of 1/4" steel and 1/2" steel flanges.

*now with you greddy/hks guys......, how would you guys like an adapter made specifically for the T25 flanges allowing you to run a larger T3 or bigger turbo, without problems clearing the block and also (if u wanted) being able to run an external wastegate from the same adapter? my buddy and I are in the works right now and am gonna try and produce one of these for my hks b-series manifold. we'll see how it works out. if anyones interested in one, PM me so we can guage what kind of interest this might gain.

I see sohc greddy kits go up for sale in the FI classifieds everyweek, and i'm thinkin the turbo upgrade problem may be one of the key reasons. hopefully this will be a cheaper solution for sohc owners

i would go with a 16g or big 16g they will spool fast and get you close to or above 300 hp.

i dont know if it will clear the block with the greddy manifold?

anyone have a big 16g on a greddy manifold?? does it clear the block?

could you make an adapter so a big 16g will clear the block.
