88 crx looking to put b18c5 but want to make the car odb2 can it be done?
well can i put a b18c5 into my 88 crx hf and keep it odb2 so i can take it to the ref and pass smog? or do i have to make everything odb0 or what how can this work?
You can convert your car to OBD2 using the OBD0 to OBD2 adapter harness. However, if your swap is USDM, you will have to add a 2nd O2 sensor and a fuel tank pressure sensor. If the swap is JDM, its as easy as an OBD1 swap.

You also have to add a crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor. As for JDM, it is indeed as easy as an OBDI swap, since the JDM ECU is basically just an OBDI ECU with OBDII plugs. But it may not pass a California referee. If this is a problem, you will probably need to wire up the car with the USDM ECU.

The Crank Fluctuation Sensor is part of the OBD2 USDM motor, so it does not need to be added. The wiring back to the ECU or adapter will need to be added, but then so will a bunch more wiring.
