Default JRSC/DETONATION QUESTION.........?

POSTING THIS FOR A FRIEND.

I just bought a supercharger for Civic Si and the installation was
finished
Wednesday by Inline Performance. As I was picking up the car late that
afternoon, one of the techs stated than my car detonate.

To be honest with you, I had no idea what Detonation was until I talked
to a
friend of mine. The Tech at inline stated that in order to fix the
detonation, I would need to purchase a aftermarket fuel pump, and SAFC.

I asked another friend of mine and he said all I need is the fuel pump
and
that should fix the problem.

Another one of my friend said that I would need to purchase aftermarket
injectors.

Could you please give me some advice.

PS. When I accelerate fast on my car, it makes a little clicking
noise......
little pebbles hitting the bottom of my car, is that detonation?

yes you are detonating....that is the #1 cause of blown engines....so DONT DRIVE IT ANYMORE, till you fix the problem...

How many PSI are you running?? injectors, Fuel pump, and an afc will help get your ratio on track...I highly recommend that

you can probably skip the injectors if you are only at 7psi....but fuel pump IS A MUST

You need to order the MAP controller from Jackson Racing. It's $179, but it will solve the problem. You can install it yourself in about 30 minutes, the car will run better and stronger. Jackson Racing designed it specifically for this problem, and it works.

A bigger fuel pump and a SAFC will not fix the problem, I know this from experience. I had the same issue on my car, it's not caused by a lack of fuel so much as the fuel sytem not being able to react quickly enough to the boost pressure (which is instant on a JRSC). A fuel pump will give you some added protection, and a SAFC or VAFC will help you get more power, but it won't get rid of the detonation.

Check the timming, buy a fuel pump, change to the right plugs and tune the piece.
you will need some form of electronic fuel control to get the most out of your setup.

Make sure you get a higher "flowing" fuel pump, and don't waste the money on the safc, any car with obd2 will detune it and it will effectively do nothing but look cool.

Here is another "SILLY" question, what Octane fuel are you using? just to give a heads up, you should be using premium. 91.

I just finished installing one on my 93 si and had a problem with det. also. I retarded the timing to 8 degrees btdc and run 92 Octane. At full throttle my a/f gauge reads two lights in the rich no det. now. I am running stock fuel pump and have the jrsc regulator set at 60psi.
