Default homemade cai?

Has anybody made a custom cold air intake for their 5th gen? I'm wanting to build one for my 94 EX coupe but can't find any info for it anywhere (yes, I searched). I really can't justify spending a couple hundred for buying one when I can build one for 1/3 the $. So, before I begin, does anyone have any info??

(and for flamers, you try going to school while your wife is a teacher supporting you both and have $ left over for mods)

I have a friend that did it to his. I know it consist of some PVC piping and getting rid of some pieces from your original intake, but I will see if I can get some more info for you.

Sorry jg but I had seen that one. I was under the impression that a cold air for a del sol would not work for a civic coupe though. Being different motors and different bodies, I was not sure if it would work or not. Is this not the case and this will work for a civic?

You may be right Dave421.. but the principles are identical. You'd be doing the same just with your plastic intake pipe.

Default works fine!

I used Slater's article as guide to build my own for my '94 hatch. It worked fine. This is not an exact science. I would also recommend the piping from JCWhitney. It's cheap (like $20?) and they'll have it to you in a day if you want. If you have the filter, clamps, silicone hose and the piping, anyone can do this in a couple of hours. It's very easy. Just adjust the bends and their respective angles to suit your fitment. Hope this helps.
