Doing a mini me swap right now!!!!
I got the Z6 head and intake mani in place. I am hooking everything back up and I noticed that the Intake has more plugs than the car harness offers, there it the map senso on top of the thorttle body, also there another black plug behind the mani..
What do I do with these?
Will it run if I leave the OBD0 injectors from the A6, the plugs on the harness do not fit on the OBD1 injectors, do I modify these or do I need to buy different injectors?
HELP I want to finisht this today, I got 4 hours and counting.........

for the map sensor, the stock map senor from your car is on the fire wall above the fuel filter. it will plug into the z6 MAP sensor, you might have to extend the wires.
the a6 injectors will work if a resistor box is kept inplace, if you remove the resistor box you will need to use the z6 injectors and modify the plugs to fit the obd-1 injectors.
as far as the other plug i forget maybe someone else will be able to help.

well the Z6 manifold has a black thingy o top of the white sensor (IAT) located behind the manifold.... that black one is the purde control.... u dont need it..... our cars have it already on the firewall...
disconect ur firqewall MAP and extend the wires to the MAP on the TB of the Z6.... that ones gets better readings....
the other plug behind the manifold its the IACV...use that.... u should actually have 1 plug left... if u have a DX or STD.... or everythig its kewl if u own an Si.,
as for the injectors... keep the A6 ones with the resistor.....
oh and btw.... remember that the Z6 head mini me's are half a tooth off.... need a cam gear for it

thanks for the responses, I am putting on the A6 mani until I get all the wiring an plugs all figured out, I also like to make sure the car will start up with the everythign else, this is my daily driver so without it I pretty much stuck at home. the integra is getting the shock rebuilt not driveable right now.

This is the stock map sensor right? What about the other plug and the air lines that have no where to be plugged into as in the stock A6 mani.
So to use the OBD1 injectors do I need to change the harness?
Here are the two plugs in case someone does not know what I am talking about.

the head came with the cam gear, hopefully I won't get any problems with the timing.
Also the plugs on the Z6 Distributor are different from the A6, I guess I need to rewire these too?
More work than I expected....

OK first to start off.....
If you use the Z6 Intake manifold you will use the map sensor that is mounted on top of the throttle body like your top pic to make it reach there just undo the wire loom and the wires will reach trust me I have a Z6 IM on my A6.
Also once you start plugging in things and eliminating vacuums you will notice that everything is does go somewhere. There will be one plug left over from the Si harness that went to the fast idle solenoid on the A6 IM the Z6 IM doesnt have this so all I did was wrap it up along the back of the IM.
As for the injectors you can do 2 things first you can keep the injector resistor box and use the A6 injectors they fit right in the Z6 IM just make sure you use the Z6 fuel rail. Second thing you can do is modify the A6 plugs a little to be able to use the Z6 injectors but then you also have to take out the injector resistor box and solder all those wires together sicne its no longer needed. I would say your best bet is to use the A6 injectors with the injector resistor box it will make everything a lot easier for you.
OK for the pic below the injectors where you put "what is this" that is the Z6 purge solenoid. On the one pic of the map sensor for the A6 you will notice the 2 plugs and the vacuums well one of them is the map sensor and the other is the purge solenoid you dont have to worry about the one on the back of the Z6 IM since you can still use the one on the firewall but if you want you could use the one on the Z6 as well.
OK now onto the Dizzy your not going to use the Z6 dizzy unless your swapping over to OBD-1 you will use the A6 dizzy but it needs to be modified to fit, your going to have to cut off one of the legs off of the A6's I forgot which one do a search and I am positive that you will find it. Oh yeah so no you dont have to rewire anything by the dizzy sicne you will still use the A6's dizzy.

thanks for the explanation.
I have the OBD1 harness and P28 ECU to use, but if I do want to use the Z6 dist I will need to rewire and if I use the OBD1 convesion can I still use the A6 dist?

No if you go with the obd1 conversion your going to have to rewire the Z6 dizzy to work but all you have to do since you have the obd1 harness is cut the plugs off of the obd1 harness and solder them into the right wires on the A6 harness. So that way your still using the right plugs atleast.
So then do you also have the obd0 to obd1 conversion harness?

Yes I do have the OBD0 to OBD1 harness.
Is the wiring for the Z6 stragiht forward, all wires match?
I would rather use the OBD1 conversion then I don't have to worry about a VTEC switch.

I too just did this, and i had the obd0-1 harness. All you have to do it run 4 wires for the 02 sensor, and 2 wires for the vtec oil pressure sensor and vtec activation. The bottm connector on the vtec pressure sensor is connected to a ground.
You will have to swap the wires from your z6 dizzt to the correct locations on your old dizzy plug from your a6. Its easy, just make sure to read blown90hatch's directions on the bottom of his sheet. Good luck, thats what kept me from starting my car, two wires were swapped wrong.
Oh, and i noticed i couldnt get TDC on both the cranksahft pulley and camshaft pulley at the same time, so is that why you need a cam gear. I still got my timing right though.

Now here is another issue with the Z6 Distributor, I tried all different angles and only on one of them the holes match up, but then it is only 2 of them. I have inserted pictures. How can I tell if this is a Z6 Dist or not?

Well I am not too familiar with the Z6 dizzy but I can tell you this much if you have a Z6 intake manifold and a Z6 dizzy all the holes should line up. So I would say that either something is really messed up or you have the wrong dizzy.
Its upside down, the peice that sticks up, and starts in the middle, than goes to the out edge, i feel stupid for not knowing whats under it, but anyways, it should be up and pointing towards the front of the hood.
No matter which way I put the "supposedly" Z6 Dizzy the holes do not match up. I am assuming it is not a Z6 part.
I got everything else on, in including the timing belt on. I began to refill the radiator when water started to run down for the motor. it looks like the water is coming out from between the head and the block right behind the cam gear. So I guess I have to take it apart tomorrow again.
I decided to start the car without water in the radiator, if I don't let it run for too long it won't get hot enough for it too need the water. Anyways, first try it did not start, second try it started very rough then turned off, on the third try I started it and gave it some gas held it at 2K for a few seconds, I did not hear any clicks or pings it was doing well. but I did smell gas and heard some what of a hissing sound. May be from the leak or leaky chamber, hence the gas does not ignite or burn. well, that is my theory.
for today it has been 6 hours.
Did not think it would take this long, oh well, I'm sure if I do it again it will be easier, I am learning alot and would feel more confident next time. It is just a hassle to keep taking the head off.
I'll update tomorrow, time to watch the fight.
ding, ding, ding, In this corner...................

I got everything in today, started after the second try, every time after that it start on the first try.
Now when I start it, the car idels at 3500 RPM. I don't see anywhere for any of the vacuum lines to plug into. except for that black plug behind the Intake Mani.
Any ideas??
thanks

I shoudl mention since I had to take off the head again I decided to throw on the Z6 intake manifold that is what I am having problems with now.
I instead of using the map sensor on top of the Z6 mani, I unplugged it and plugged it in to the stock one on the firewall. THe car idles fine, but by itself, after 10 sec or so, it reved up and shutdown.
I appreciate any feedback anyone may have, I really want to get this done.

I will try to plug the hole, just to see what happens, actually the hole is plugged with the connector there.
If I use the sensor on the Z6 TB when the car starts it idles at 3500 RPM, I can't use that until I know how to fix that or at least adjust it.
Here are some pictures of how I put the A6 dist. on the Z6 head and the only plugs that will plug into the Z6 mani as well as all I coudl do with the airlines.
I hope all this pictures will help someone down the line.
