Default engine swap headaches need help

okay to start out I bought a 93 d15z1 vtec engine out of a canadian vx civic for my 89 civic sedan that originally had a d15b2. i used my old intake, exhaust, distributor, tranny, ac, ps, and alt. I have the motor in my car, with my parts hooked up but when i try to start the motor it just turns over. i have check the firing order and made sure the wires are in the right cylinder. i have also checked to make sure the spark plugs are getting spark which they are. I am lost as to why the engine wont start. it seems like the injectors are not delivering and fuel. when i pull the plugs out they are bone dry. I can only think that i did not wiring something right. Does anyone know when i can get ahold of a wiring diagram or something to help.

Thanks

also there is a sensor on the top side of the intake right behind the throttle body. it had a plug on the bottom and 2 vaccum line on top. when i removed the old engine the 2 vaccum lines got broke off. could that be causing problems, if so what is the name of that piece. i have yet to find out what it is called. thanks!

WELL IM NO VTEC GUY BUT I KNOW THAT IF YOUR NOT USING THE RIGHT ECU IT WONT WORK ALSO CAN U HEAR YOUR FEUL PIUMP TURNING ON IF NOT CHECK IT,ARE U GETTING ANY CODES CHECK THEM WITH THE BOOK.YOUR RELAY COULD NOT WORK ALSO BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY THING I CAN JUST NAME OUT CHECK THE CODES POST THEM AND TAKE IT FROM THERE. WHEN MY FUEL WASNT GOING IN IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD A BAD GROUND. CHECK THE GROUND BEHIND THE MOTOR BY THE (WATER THERMOSTAT) I THINK THATS RIGHT ANY WAYS THE ONE THAT POKES OUT OF YOUR HARNESS AND IS CONNECTED BEHIND THERE SOME WHERE

umm, did you use the MPFI intake manifold from the d15z or did you use your stock DPFI d15b intake manifold? If you're using the MPFI manifold then you should've converted your wiring to MPFI. Also, what ECU are you using to run this thing?

it should work just fine to tell you the truth. I would check your fuses to see if you popped one somewhere, and also check your grounds to make sure they are hooked up okay.

if you're interested i have an MPFI setup from a 91 CRX Si that I am selling (ECU, distributor, intake manifold, throttle body, fuel rail, injectors, resistor box, sensors, etc.)

The problem sounds like you have the distributor 180 degress off. Check the distributor to make sure that it is sitting flush with the head. If not take it off and turn that dam wedge looking that goes in the cam !over! place the dist. back on and see what happens. If that don't do it pull off you injector resistor plug and look for any bent pins. Or you might of replaced the wrong bolt that goes into the gas filter. The banjo bolt is what goes in the fuel filter it has a hole in it for gas to go threw to the fuel rail.

okay thanks guys. found out that it was a ground problem.

now i have a new problem. the engine starts but will not hold idle. if i take the #1 cylinder spark plug out it will hold idle and run. if i try to replace the plug it kills the engine. i am thinking there is a problem with the head but i dont know what could be causing the problem. if anyone know it would hep.
thanks

did u make sure the timing was right ? look at the spark plug, if the little arm opposte the electrode is smashed against the electrode then u probably got the piston hitting the spark plug

its weird that it dies because a car should still be able to run on 3 cylinders without dying.

the spark plug has not been hit. the car doesnt die when the spark plug is out. it dies when the spark plug is in.

definitely firing order. change the order of your spark plug wires. also, if you want my MPFI you can have it for $200 shipped. it's going on Ebay this weekend if no one buys it here.
