Default cam compatability

does anyone know if the F22B1 cam will interchange with the F23A1 cam. I'm having a hard time finding any cams for my F23 other than gude and I'm just looking for possible alternatives.

If anyone has a f22b1 cam laying around and would be willing to ship it to me, I'll do a check on it.

I though of a regrind but I'm not really sure what sort of profiles to get. I just figured that I'd look for something that had already been tried out. what kind of cost are we talking aobut for a regrind?

I know there is a lot more aftermarket support for the F22 than the F23. Delta does regrinds, and one member of AccordTuner has one from them for his F22. Probably totally different.

This is the help that I received a while back. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=558740

Well... It's nice to know I'm a little infamous. Regrinds aren't half as bad the rap they get from people who heard from a friend of a friend's roomate's cousin that one broke once on some motor that they don't anything else about... ya know what I mean? I'm totally happy with my Delta regrind... here's the AccordTuner link... http://board.accordtuner.com/showthread.php?t=2650

Unfortunately Delta doesn't do VTEC grinds though... but a lot of places will grind an F23VTEC cam... exospeed might, JG does, Gude does, Crower does, Web does, Schneider might, KMS probably does, EF-1 might in the future... I know i'm forgetting some places but the point is that any place that does Honda Cam work, or a lot of cam workin general, will either do the work or know someone for you to talk to about it...

thanks for the link Zigen that was an interesting read too bad delta doesn't touch VTEC cams because you cant beat what you paid for it. I'm kind of curious as to why not since I don't really see a difference. I guess it's harder to get profiles for the low cam but still...

I'm not too worried about a regrind and their bad rep. I did a google search on "reground cam disadvantaages" and didn't come back with a lot of stuff. anyway most everything i read about them on honda boards is the "i heard..." or "my gay uncle had one..." type of story and I'm not really much for believing them. I guess the only reservation I have is the wear issue, since it's going into my daily driver and it gets 30k a year. then again, how bad can it be? anyone got some experience with this?

was your cam from delta welded and then ground to new profiles? or was it ground to new profiles without adding material?

anyone know if the f22 cam will fit in the f23? I'm still curious about this one.

to be honest i wouldnt mind the low cam being something super powerful for 0-4000 rpm. its annoying that i have to flop over to the highcam @ 3000rpm just to keep my car from going limp.

low cam needs more help than our high cam, really.... but dont get me wrong high needs help too.

webcams says they'll touch the f22b1, and its the same **** as the f23.. talk to them.

I dont know about the f22b1, but the f23 has a 6250 redline. If I was on low cam til 4k then there is very liitle time spent on it. i'm thinking 3k is about right for the x-over

but yeah if it was something torquey that fell on its face at 3k or so, I'd be pleased.

you'd probably have to swap the head, but just send it off to JG or some other qualified shop and they should be able to hook you up.
