are you talking about the pin stripe? I think most pinstripes, like the oem pinstripe, is a vinyl sticker and can be removed easily w/ out damaging the paint by using the razor blade and goo gone just like you said, but taking a heat gun to the section you're removing makes it much easier, if you decide to go w/ the rubbing compound, you can find that at any discount auto parts store ie:autozone, checker, pepboys
I work at a body shop, I'll tell you right now.. if that pinstripe is a painted one. you will be there all day trying to remove it with rubbing compound. rubbing compound is a mild abrasive used to take out swirls, light scratches, and small imperfections in the clear coat. best stuff to use is either paint thinner or if you know anyone at a body shop, some reducer.

thanks guys. umm paint thinner is kinda crazie. i had experience with it before, i think it might even remove the paint of the car cuz of the chemical that is in it. the heat is crazie with paint thinner.
DON'T put any chemicals on your paint. Any bodyshop or aftermarket paint under the pinstripe will be ruined by putting ruducers on it.
Removing painted on pin stripping:
1st. Determine if the stripe is over or under the clear
If so, lightly sand with a good flat block with a 1200 grit sandpaper on just the stripe. Make sure you do not sand through the clear coat. When all of the stripe is gone you then will have to buff the sanded area using a high speed buffer and compounds. This is a job for a skilled bodyman, I wouldn't recomend doing this unless you have the proper training.
DO NOT USE ANY HARSH CHEMICALS: laquer, etc.

hahah yeah ur rite. i just tired it with the rubbing compound and with the razor alittle, its not wronging. its not a vinyl pinstripe. its like the dealer painted and im not sure its under the clear coat. i think from the door to the rear is above the clear coat and the fender the clear coat is over the pinstripe. its feel lumpy when i feel on it so i guess it could be under or over the clear coat. yeah i think the best way is to use 1200 grit sand paper then buff it later. thanks for the tips guys.
