It measures the electrical load from all the stuff that's turned on. When you turn on lots of stuff (lights, wipers, 700w amp...) the alternator takes more power to turn. The ELD gives the ECM advanced 'warning' so it can be prepared to use the IACV to hold the idle steady.

If it didn't work, then when you turn on all that stuff your idle speed wouldn't be real steady.

On my ecu, there is no wire connected to where the electrical load detector part. Never had this before. Can anyone help me? Please? I can't floor the car without getting this all the time. Happens only sometime. What would make my car get a code 20? Starting to get irritating.

My Helm book indicates the ELD is for USA only??? With your mix of JDM engine, idunno what ECM, maybe your ECM is looking for an ELD that isn't there.
