Check engine light and code P0133 need help
I had my check engine light come on so i took the car to the dealer and this is what they had to say:
We performed a computer diagnosis and found code P0133 fro o2 sensor slow response. We found bullet in #99-049 indicating the failure/oversensitivity of the PCM.
The vehicle has aftermarket components of the engine and it is felt that the codes are being set by the computer due to abnormal fuel metering.
The o2 sensor was replaced a year ago and i had this problem before i started to add performance parts. The parts that I have on are:
AEM short ram intake
DC 4-1 ceramic header
HKS hiper exhaust
My car is a 1998 Civic Ex. Do you think that with tuning i would be able to adjust the fuel amount and fix this problem?

Re: Check engine light and code P0133 need help (ramz7887)
Are all of your stock sensors installed on the aftermarket pieces...
ex. Intake air temp on the aem short ram.
If not that could be it right there...
Other wise sure if you tune it with an fpr to get the right mix then it should clear up the problem...
Although there are THOUSANDS of dudes with the same car and mods with NO problems...
Try (if you can) another known good ecu... If it still puts out the same codes then it's def. something with the car... if not then it's your ecu...
Good luck

other than that it could be something as simple as one of those sensors being faulty from the factory then.... like the iat... if it's telling the ecu it's xdense when it's not then the ecu will add too much or too little gas... which could cause problems with all of the stuff you mentioned.
