Check Engine Light on
I own a 98 honda civic ex, ever since installing a new exhaust the check engine light is on, is there a way to make this light go off. I know that its on because of the new exhaust.

first of all grab the code. Then let me guess and say that it's a code 65(secondary o2 code). but before that get the code and go from there

I also plan on putting on an AEM short ram intake, should I wait until its on to do anything about the check engine light?

putting an intake on your car will have nothing to do with needing to ge that cel fixed. The cel is on because of the exhaust. The intake won't change that.

I have a CEL 13 and 63 and my car runs great. Code 13 is from the AFC hack and 2ndry O2 doesnt bother anything

Well since he has an OBDII car and he has vtec, throwing the secondary O2 sensor code will not let vtec engage which = no fun!
Use a jumper to pull the code and fix the problem before you do anything else.
Try resetting the ECU by unhooking the negative terminal of the battery for a couple seconds, then try and see if it is still throwing the CEL.
If that doesn't work it's probably an O2 sensor problem.

Really? I never noticed because my SOHC VTEC-E doesnt make a noticeable difference when vtec engages

I'm pretty sure of it. Just like when an OBDII car gets a test pipe, you must get an O2 sensor simulator or vtec won't engage and the car will run like ***.

NOPE. I am OBDIIB and my car runs like a champ with the O2 sensor ziptied in the engine bay

I dont know. S2K vs civic.....?? No clue. But I DO know my 2ndry O2 sensor is ziptied in my engine bay and my car runs like a champ. It was my impression that the 2ndry O2 sensor was basically there to let you know your cat converter is doing its job (or not). I could be wrong. I dont really know. All I know is my car runs good. Actually I know another guy who has his O2 sensor ziptied in his engine bay and his car runs great
