Header and O2 sensor question
I have a JDM B18C swap in my bucket and my DCSports 4-2-1 header just arrived. However, UNLIKE my JDM header, it doesn't have a recepticle to plug the O2 sensor into. What gives? Where is the screw up and how do I resolve the issue? I wanted a USDM (OEM or aftermarket) header because the JDM one is too long when coupled with the exhaust. Any help would be appreciated!
Did you buy this header new? From a dealer? It should have the hole the 02 sensor goes in almost at the end of the header where the collector is..
The JDM header came with the swap and is therefore used. The DCSports header is new. The cat is also new (catco from Summit racing, I believe). Do the USDM GSR's have the sensor in the cat and JDM GSR's in the Header? It seems like that is the issue. If that is the case, will I need a muffler shop to fabricate something? Grrr, more money!!!
US GSR's have the primary O2 sensor on the cat, before the catalyst. And on OBD2 cars, in the catalyst too. ITR and B16a motors have the primary O2 in the header collector. You need to get a bung for an O2 sensor and have that welded onto the header or cat.
