Default WTF... code 16-- fuel injector after hitting vtec 2nd gear redling 3.5

THis stupid goes comes on once in a while.

Today I go fill up GAS for 5 bucks and hit vtec when exiting gas station it worked all the way..

Again when coming on home hit vtec again second gear car hit rev limiter at 3.5 and suddenly code 16 turned on what can be the problem the FUEL filter or what..?

Ohh yea after the code I reset the ECU the code went away hit vtec couple of times the code didn't come back yet

soo I am wondering what can cause the Problem I am using 91 fuel!!!

could be a clogged injector. next time it happens listen to the injectors with a screwdriver. put the tip to the injector and the butt to your ear. they should all be clicking.

check the wiring..only time I ever had a code 16 the plug was not on all the way. The ecu sends out voltage to the injectors and then after going through the resister box it goes back to the ecu, so it knows if it is pulsing or not. When there is a break in the cycle the voltage does not get back to the ecu..so it goes to limp mode...safety setings..

Good info, thanks. Do you happen to know how OBD-I/II Injectors work then?

well they do not let alot of voltage back to the ecu like the obd-0 style does, that is why you need to add the resistor box to the wires, so it resists some of the voltage going back to the ecu
